In any adobe product if you get “Could not complete your request because something prevented the text engine from being initialized” error follow following steps

Close all adobe applications running – Then Open C Drive
Goto Documents and Settings
Then $USER directory (Just like above)
Open Local Settings Folder
Open Application Data Folder
Open Adobe Folder
Open TypeSupport Folder
Delete everything inside the TypeSupport Folder
Note:- Some directories are hidden by default so make sure to set the explorer to display all hidden files.
  • Close all adobe applications
  • Open C Drive > Documents and Settings > Currrent user directory > Local Settings > Application Data > Adobe > TypeSupport
  • Delete everything inside the TypeSupport Folder

    I have Windows 7... i follow your steps and in that folder i have only one file...when i deleted it...i got a same problem...(that file come back when i open photoshop again) can somebody help me please? sorry for bad laguage :D

    Hmmm, well, Adobe might be the top seller and leader in graphics software (or so I've read while trawling through dozens of forums trying to fix this issue) and yet they still haven't woken up to the fact that such a simple fix exists. Well done, guys, and thanks.

    It worked, thank you very much. Windows 7 path: C:\Users\(Your User Name)\AppData\Local\Adobe\TypeSupport Delete everything you find in there. Remember to unhide the hidden files/folders, in order to see the AppData folder.
