Best Buy, has changed its mind and is getting behind Apple. The retailer and Apple CEO Tim Cook just announced during its earnings call that Best Buy stores will support Apple Pay later this year. It’s also available starting today within Best Buy’s mobile apps. The announcement is quite surprising since Best Buy, along with fellow retailers Walmart, Sears, CVS, and Rite Aid, is a member of the Merchant Customer Exchange – The mobile payments platform built by those merchants and other MCX members to compete against Apple Pay at popular retail chains. Since CurrentC has had trouble getting off the ground and Apple Pay is doing exceptionally well ever since its launch, retailers have started to change their mind to give customers a good payment experience. Soon it’ll have the support of all major credit card brands.
